Who Can Participate?

Creative professionals (from any organization), freelance professionals, NGOs, Students and individuals who are simply creative and believe in the cause, may send in entries.

Eligibility Criteria, Terms & Conditions

  • The contest is open to all. Creative professionals (from any organization), freelance professionals, NGOs, Students and individuals who are simply creative and believe in the cause, may send in entries.
  • Entries may be sent in any Language.
  • Languages other than English and Hindi would need to be accompanied with a translation of the text.
  • Multiple entries from individuals / organizations / institutions in multiple categories are welcome.
  • All participants must be open to the idea of having his/her promotional material available free of charge online, to stakeholders.
  • The entries received by Population First would be customizable / modifiable online for all / any registered user.
  • The customized / modified promotional materials will be uploaded in separate section, while keeping the originals in ‘Winning Entries’ or ‘Finalists’ sections.
  • It will be mandatory for users customizing / modifying the original works, to acknowledge the original maker / makers of the creative.
  • There would be no restriction on the usage of colors, font type, size etc of the creative. However, we recommend it is made well within a standard convenient size (mentioned alongside the categories), while maintaining the original proportions.

Basic Guidelines To Be Followed

  • Please avoid use of language that portrays girls as objects of pity or devalues them.
  • Avoid using words such as killing, murder, and genocide as this focuses attention on negative emotions of fear and violence, thereby turning the audience away from the issue at hand.
  • Avoid using gory, brutal and extremely gruesome images / photographs etc in the content of the promotional material.
  • Avoid language that holds the mother responsible for sex selection. She has very little control over the decision.

  • Certificates / Citations to all short listed entries.
